The Boyton Vista Trail is a short hike up to Boynton Spires. The towering red Sandstone formations stand guard at the mouth of Boynton Canyon. The most prominent electromagnetic vortex site, drawing energies from deep within the earth. From the overlook are open vistas of the isolated buttes and mesas between Secret, Long, and Boynton Canyons. The sweeping views include Deadman’s Pass and Mescal Mountain to the east; Capitol Butte, Chimney Rock, and Courthouse Butte to the south; and Boynton Canyon and the Enchantment Rock

Fabulous in difficulty, views and a wonderful place to relax and picnic. The perfect Sedona trail for visitors and locals alike. Highly recommend it year round.
Beautiful walk through varied landscapes. You get up close to monuments you see in the distance.
This trail goes past Enchantment Resort. There was a lot of noise from the resort, leaf blowers and construction machinery. The trail was very shaded along the bottom of the canyon. There were some nice views of the canyon walls through the trees. The trail got more difficult toward the end. There were some short uphill climbs/scrambles near the end. To get the best views of the valley we had to climb around the corner, along the smooth, wide red-rock shelf. I do not like heights, but the rock was like sandpaper . . . so it was a piece of cake!! The views were worth it!!
The only good part of this hike is at the end when you begin the climb for the views. There are many better hikes for the flat first few miles. The long trek is not worth the end.
One of the very best moderate trails in Sedona. The cirque at the end of the trail is world class beauty.
Excellent, diverse trail. Elevation gain is enough to go from junipers to Ponderosa Pine to firs. It got a little buggy when the canyon really narrowed and got steep; enough that we turned around just before the end.
Gorgeous! A nice easy to moderate hike. Once you get past the resort the hike starts for real, and the views at the end are well worth the hike.
Arrived at 8.30am, only 3 parking spaces left. 2 separate GPS both clocked it at 6.7 miles total, out & back. As did quite a few puzzled folk who made it to the cirque at the end. We are thinking that the extra walk from the parking lot itself to the sign in trail post was not accounted for? Either way we did it in an easy 2 1/2 hours, allowing time for lots of photos and admiring the views. Beautiful scenery, even allowing for the initial walk past the resort, lots of shade, the trees getting progressively denser and the trail becoming a lot steeper before opening out right at the very end. Going back we began to meet more and more hikers just starting out. Pick your days & time carefully!
Any good views to be had near the beginning are spoiled by the resort. It’s incredibly loud as well.
I saw more people on this trail than I have ever seen on another trail, especially toward the beginning. The Pink Jeeps and Sedona Trolley bring tourists down to the trailhead.
It has had a lot of work done to it; there is evidence of humans everywhere. Logs are added across the trail to create steps, and rocks are arranged to create some drainage.
Once you’re past the resort, it’s just a flat, sandy, uninteresting trail through a lot of trees.
very nice relaxing hike, end requires few minutes of scrambling, top ledge is a little intimidating if you don’t like heights or worrying about others with you falling off. Great varied views especially if your an east coaster.
We combined the vista trail with this hike so we were tired by the time we climbed back into our car. We thought we would never get there and then we got to the very steep and rocky part at the end. It felt great to reach the summit! People on the trail were very nice and we enjoyed the walk through the forest following the dry river bed.
This is an awesome hike. Nice shading with trees. My chicuauah was amazing. Went the whole way. Beautiful landscape changes as you climb.
