Broken Arrow Trail is an easy and popular hike on a good trail with great red rock scenery. The trail is unshaded and can be hot in summer. Begin at the signed trailhead which will direct you across the jeep road to the trail. After 200 feet, the trail bears left (south) and soon crosses a ledge at the foot of Battlement Mesa. At .6 miles, look for the fence around Devil’s Dining Room Sinkhole 100 feet to the left and downhill. Explore, then return to the trail and continue as it gradually climbs to some scenic red rock outcrops beside Twin Buttes on the right. Continue to the end of the trail at Chicken Point at 1½ miles. More great views. Return by the same route. At ½ mile from Chicken Point, take the short side path to the right signed for Submarine Rock. Walk this interesting formation, and then return by the same path to the main trail. Continue north to complete the hike of about 3½ miles (roundtrip including Submarine Rock). The adjacent roads are used by Jeep tours.

Fabulous views and moderate difficulty. Great family trail.
This trail was recommended to us by Greg at the Hike House. Great Trail!! Super views!! Rolling terrain. Very well marked. Along the way, we had amazing views of the valley and Submarine Rock. The view of Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte from Chicken Point was amazing!!
Awesome views and trail was a good climb, but not too difficult. Definitely one of my favorites.
This is a great starter trail for people with hiking experience. Gradual rise in elevation over a well defined and marked trail. Views Galore! We did this trail a couple of years ago and accidentally got on to Twin Buttes and Hog Wash, not bad but not what we really wanted to do. The trail has been improved and there are markers at the diverging points to keep you on your path. Great morning hike!
This trail is an all time favorite. The views are spectacular and 360 much of the way. Seasoned hikers will also appreciate this trail even though it is not very strenuous. Chicken Point is the prize at the end of the trail.
